Huntstanton Primary

Sports Leaders

What does a sports leader do in school?

Represent the house at a range of different events – this includes actively taking part in school fayres, sports day, extra-curricular activities etc. Take a lead role in the organisation and running of sports and charity events as per HOH/Tutor. Sharing information confidently with other students via assemblies.

At Hunstanton Primary, we have our Year 6 Sports Leaders as part of our PE provision, who regularly meet to discuss any ideas regarding physical education. Sports leaders have an opportunity to share their own thoughts and opinions with the group and collectively agree on any decisions that are made.

Sports Leaders apply at the start of each academic year by writing a letter of application stating why they think they would make an excellent candidate for the job and most importantly, why they want to be one!

This role develops important values such a patience, friendship, compassion and kindness as well as building their confidence and communication skills throughout the year.

Sports Leaders help to organise and lead events such as Sports Day, Sport Relief and give opinions on what they would like our PE and sport provision at Hunstanton Primary to offer in the future.

The Sports Leaders for the 2023/2024 Academic Year are :

Ronnie, Albie, Lucas, Phoebe and Max
